The Camp Outlook @ Connell educational program is provided by the
North Franklin School District. Students are given an academic assessment
during their first week at the camp to determine the correct academic level and
develop instructional strategies.
Education Benefits
 |
A typical school day is five periods with
reading, writing, mathematics, a treatment component (Moral Reconation
Therapy ©, Cage Your Rage ©, Criminal Thinking Errors, etc.) and an
elective. Examples of electives are drama, GED test preparation and
art. Basic skills are emphasized. Failure to complete
assignments or participate in class activities is not an option. |
 |
Trainees receive a minimum of 5.25 high school
credits if they pass all requirements with the opportunity to earn an
additional credit if they are chosen for culinary, maintenance, or office
skills training. A special education teacher is on staff to meet
identified areas of concern. |
 |
Approaching graduation from the Basic Training
Camp, special attention is given to the educational setting to which the
trainee returns so that they may have the best opportunity for success in
the community. |
